You must have been watching a different game. This team has been awful on the glass all season. And it’s not just because of a failure to box out. The absolute first trait you have to have to be a good rebounding team is desire. It’s a mindset. When the ball comes of the rim it is my ball and no one else’s. Watch Houston. They don’t have a ton of size. But when there is a loose ball every one the floor for them is fighting one another to get it. That’s because Kelvin Sampson DEMANDS toughness. This team is incredibly passive. The ONLY two guys with an actual desire to rebound are Fountain and Hannibal. The rest want to avoid contact at all cost. You have a guy like Reed who wants nothing to do with contact. He just wants to loaf like it’s an AAU game. The guards (except for Hannibal) don’t help at all.

And the worst part is passive McMahon is ok with it. How do I know that? Because if he wasn’t you’d see 5 guys attack the rebound on every play. Instead, you see 4 guys bailing immediately with the hope that either Fountain or Hannibal might get a rebound
