Him leaving does not mean he never could have grown into being better. And it certainly doesn't account for him possibly being the #1 guy in the future.

Not to mention, as a scout team player he never competed, and/or lost out to anyone.

If the staff believed he had the ability to grow into a better quarterback than the other people we have in the room he wouldn’t be transferring, Nuss would.

Flat out said that he expected a Fair chance to compete for QB2 at minimum and wasn't going to be a scout team qb again. Maybe he got his answer.
