Sure would be convenient for a bad actor to have everyone trapped right before a major attack. Hopefully this is just nuisance and not something more sinister.

Trapped where? Airports are busy enough without delays.

What? A major attack at an airport(s) would probably force planes to ground anyway. What would the purpose of grounding them first and then attacking do?
