It doesn't bolster or erode anything. Kelly's staff has heavy midwest/northeast ties. If that was eroding or bolstering anything they'd be recruiting other areas harder. They're not. Future classes are still recruiting midwest/northeast players hard as well as Louisiana of course. It's not changing anything.

This is more getting rid of Orgeron's taint off the roster who he can't evaluate positional players for shite. He recruited 2 top 100 S in a heavy position of need and neither of those guys are on the roster anymore. 1 of which doesn't even have a position to play set in stone yet.

BK immediately comes on staff and realizes this guy can't cover so you push him to another position like RB. Just goes to show how different the staffs were and how clueless Orgeron was.

Kelly must not know what he’s looking at ether then because it took him the entire offseason and almost the entire season to move him to RB.

Davis went to his position coach and said I don’t see any playing time for me here, I’d like to talk about transferring. Position coach then brings this to the HC and HC asks him, well what do you think about him? Position coach says I think he’s a great athlete but I also agree with him about not seeing playing time at safety but he did play RB in HS and he looked good there so maybe we could let him work with those guys and see how he responds.

They switch him, it looks more promising but at the end of the day, he has to start over and learn a new position. With the talent coming in, just felt that if he was going to switch to RB, he would go somewhere else with more options for him to play. I bet he either plays RB at Pitt or switches to a more LOS role where he makes tackles behind the LOS and blitzes. LSU just has much more talent for those roles, so he’s left.

I still believe that his natural position is RB. He looked very fluid and natural there. At the very least I think he could have ended up as our starter on 1st and 2nd down and rotated with Williams. Hopefully the freshman show they’re both ready for some action.
