Yeah, I’m sure he splurged like any 24 year old would. The point is that the money does dry up fast. Especially if you’ve only been in the league for as little time as he has. Hamlin hasn’t really had the time to establish himself and build security. He’s in what? A 40% tax rate? His agent probably collects somewhere between 5-10% of his contract. So right off the bat half his money is gone.
