I just don’t get it and I can’t support kids playing football ever. The sport needs to simmer away and people should focus on pushing education onto kids, not a violent sport.

We all have gifts. Some people are here to play sports. That's what *they* want to do, and a lot of us want to see it. Sports participants know the risks and choose to do it anyway. That's the definition of courage. Academics are not for everyone.

Sports have been around for centuries in one form or another. Football players are the modern day gladiators.

Sports are beneficial for huge numbers of people, not just those on a pathway to monetizing their athletic ability. I grew up in a rural setting long ago where football was absolutely glorified and emphasized. It wasn’t my favorite sport to play, but I still loved to play it.

Pushing your mind and body to the edge of what it can tolerate taught me a lot that I’ve carried forward in life. It is a brutally violent game, even at high school levels. But it is one of the greatest games ever created and a football team is a brotherhood.
