Tough one. I think they may have been waiting for positive news. Syncope episode or something. Canceled now, so that’s good. Prayers.

Yep.

Sure, it's bad what happened with the guy but reading the majority of posts here you'd think they were related to the guy or were close personal friends.

ETA-And to think they are going to immediately shut down the game without any further information is ridiculous.

I work in sports. This is unprecedented. The smart move was to wait and see how everything transpired then make a call. He made the right call but sometimes it takes time to get the information and make an educated decision. The timing shouldn’t matter, he made the right call at the end of the day.

The euros had this happen in 2020 and the game played on. Stop being a whiny arse.

Did canceling the game save to the dude's life? If not, who the frick cares what happens with the game? You obviously care more about THE GAME and Goodell, than the dude who might die.

Oh, you're concerned about some words he didn't say in a timely manner? What about his leadership in demanding every NFL player get a experimental gene altering drug? It's not called the "Clot Shot" for nothing. This is just the first NFL player and won't be the last. The soccer world has seen many die this past year.

Not canceled. Postponed.

There is a difference.

Once there was confirmation Eriksen was awake. The match was delayed several hours.

I remember the night Owen Hart fell and died and Vince McMahon continued on with the show, later claiming, "that's what Owen would have wanted."

There was a lot of $ to be lost by canceling/postponing the remainder of the game but at least Goodell made the right call in the end... of course I'm sure he was receiving immense pressure to do so.
