Petit St Vincent isn’t close to St Vincent. You’d fly into Union Island. I’d actually recommend Palm Island Resort. Much cheaper and you have access to the same areas.
For the BVI, the only true luxury resort is Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda. very expensive and not worth it imo. Get a captain and stay on a boat. Cheaper and a great experience.

This is a great suggestion for the BVI or St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
However, there's more than one great resort in the BVI although the best are $$$$$$$. You might want to check out Little Dix Bay which is also on Virgin Gorda and overall is a better resort than VGYC. Sasdly, Peter Island has not reopened yet or I would recommend that as well.

Peter Island when it's open and then there's Necker Island owned by Sir Richard Branson and it is the definition of luxury that only the .01% can afford.

What issue did you have with it? I ask because me and the wife are staying there for a week for our 25th anniversary this year, but it isn't too late to change plans. She mostly wants be on a beach and read / relax and didn't want a boat other than a couple of snorkeling outings.
Never having been, they seem to have the best reviews of the places reopened. Also looked at Bitter End Yacht Club and a couple others before deciding. Understand food and drinks will be expensive, but not worried about that as long as it and the service are good.
