Good to see this. LSU is gonna crack the top 25 on Monday. Nice that LSU doesn't have a game on Saturday so beating Arkansas is the last thing the voters saw. Can't lose on Saturday and kill top 25 momentum.

LSU wasn't receiving any votes in the last polls, so I doubt they crack the top 25 this week. That said, the polls really don't matter for anything other than perception. So I wouldn't be too upset if LSU isn't ranked next week.
The BEST thing that happened last night, besides the win, of course, is that LSU got a big win in front of a good crowd. Hopefully that will encourage more casual basketball fans to continue to come out to the games. I can't count how many times over the past 15 or so years that LSU was building momentum and had a good crowd out for a big game...only to see LSU lose and, in the process lose the crowd for the remainder of the year. In its current state LSU basketball is a bandwagon sport for many fans. If they are winning, the fans will show up. If not, they will quickly stop paying attention. Last night was the first time many LSU fans have watched this team play this year. So it was a great "first impression". While being ranked would be nice to help build momentum, just winning last night is going to be enough to get some of those in attendance to show up for the next home game and pay attention overall. THAT is more important that being ranked right now.
