A Brief History Lesson

Was talking to my best friend today who just happens to be an Alabama fan. He said, "you guys are always gunning for us." I had to correct him by telling him that since 2000, ya'll have been gunning for US.
Take any time period you want since Paul Bryant last coached at Alabama in 1982, and LSU is the better program. Obviously over the past 5 years, but let's break it down a little further:
In the last 10 years, LSU has 3 SEC Championships, 2 National Championships and 4 SEC West Championships. AND holds a 7-3 advantage in the series with Alabama. Bama has 1 SEC Championship and 1 SEC West Championship.
In the last 25 years, LSU has 3 more SEC Championships for a total of 6, while Alabama has only 3 SEC Championships, along with 5 SEC West Championships and 1 National Championship. And the series record is tied, 12-12-1.
Folks, we're the better program. We're the ones that they are gunning for. We are what they wish they were, but just are not anymore.
We have won 5 in a row over them, and 7 of the last 8, so let's act like it on Saturday!!

LSU's favorable history is very "brief."
You should poll the rest of the country to see who garners more respect.
When people talk about the top 5 - or so - programs of all time, LSU is never mentioned.

That's true. Alabama is a better program over the history of all time.
Paul Bryant was a great coach.
But I'm talking about recent history.
And the fact is that LSU is definitely a TOP TEN program of all time.
But if you flip that and look at the last quarter century, LSU is still a TOP TEN program, while Alabama is just another nice place to play football.

I would definitely disagree that LSU is a top 10 all-time program.

You can cling to ancient history all you want - the facts are that Bama is no longer a top respected program. They are respected by the country like Florida State, Miami and Michegan are respected. After Saturday, the myth of Saban will be forever lost and you can slink back to the Capstone to dream about what it must be like to dominate another team for 6 years in a row (like LSU has beaten Bama 6 years in a row).

Yep, just like every other SEC program...You all took turns kicking us when we were down. But you have to face facts...The sleeping giant has been awakened and theres NOTHING you can do about it.
Furthermore, your most recent NC was pretty much handed to you on a silver platter. Do you REALLY enjoy being an 11-2 national champ? Thats like winning by default. And lets be honest...Had it not been for just pure luck when your IDIOT coach threw for the end zone against AU because he thought there was more time on the clock, you would've lost that game. Had it not been for a JPW fumble late in last years game, BAMA wouldve beat you.
