Repainting soffits and facia

Like the title says it’s time to repaint our soffits and facia. What kind of prep work do I need to do before I paint? Pressure wash?, hand scrub?(will take forever), sanding necessary? Is there any need to prime if I’m just repainting it white? Also what kind of paint would you recommend? Any tools or tricks would be helpful too.

It depends on the condition of the existing paint.
If its not peeling and in decent shape you do not need to sand or prime. If areas are peeling, then sand those and apply primer. Especially if bare wood is showing.
Make sure it's clean with soap and water. Maybe bleach too if there is mold. A cleaner like Jomax and a pump sprayer would be good.
A good exterior latex paint in semi-gloss or satin would be my suggestion.
