He is “upset”. In my opinion, players currently in the service academies should be grandfathered in under the 2019 law.

I completely understand the commitment part of the argument. He knew what he signed up for. However, the rules when he had to make his final commitment going into his junior year changed right before he has the opportunity to go to the NFL. Making this effective immediately seems unfair to someone who make a decision based on the fact the NFL would be an option to him.

The logical compromise would be anyone who made the commitment after 2019 until now would be held to those standards and rules. He’ll still honor his commitment over his NFL career is completed, and I feel like having a guy in the NFL championing the Army could be the most positive marketing tool the Army has had in a while.
