My first thoughts

(A) He transitioned the nozzles to forward flight mode too early which would cause the bird to start forward, thus causing the nose down reaction or (B) mechanical problem with the vectoring of the nozzles which basically caused the same thing.

I'm thinking numero uno, due to the fact that I'm guessing he was transitioning the nozzles when he first touched down, not knowing the bird was going to bounce that high.

Pilot is apparently okay, that’s about as 0/0 as you can get.
