I mean, it literally says in the trailer "65 million years ago...the search for a new world...led to pre-historic Earth." So at the very least it seems to be set in the past, not sure about the human part since it would be 10's of millions of years before humans.

Yeah I’m not sure how everyone seems to have missed that they gave away that twist in the trailer
They are basically just smashing Jurassic park and planet of the apes together.
I assume there will be an even bigger twist like the asteroid that takes out the dinosaurs ends up being the rescue ship or something, because otherwise it’s kind of silly to remove all the tension/unknown of what is happening and spoil it in the trailer like that.
