Thinking about going to Gatlinburg in late January. Has anybody been that time of year? I know there is skiing and snow tubing, but are other attractions still open? I'd love to hear everyone's experiences.

I used to take the ex-wife for NYE every year, and always had a good time.
The crowds are much smaller, some shops will be closed, and Clingman's Dome road will be closed.
Some roads in the park will be closed also.

Be prepared that you might get snowed in if the weather is right

Weather is a complete crapshoot, no idea how it'll be up there.
