Because Joe Burrow is gone and we have a QB who runs the ball 100+ times a year

Burrow ran the ball 128 times in 2018. That's WITH Brossette running it 240 times and WITH CEH running it 146 times.

For the record Burrow threw it 29 times per game with 58% 2894 yards 7.6 ypa 16 TD to 5 int. Daniels threw it 28.5 times per game with 68.5% 2776 yards 7.7 ypa 16 TD to 3 int.

Daniels can improve just like Burrow. Now he won't likely be anywhere near as amazing passing because we aren't running that type of offense, and these guys aren't Jefferson and Chase and Marshall good, but I can easily see him adding back the down field passing game that he had as a freshman coming into ASU.

IMO he's had a lot on his plate this year and had a great test run. Next year will be the real thing.

I love when we hate our own QBs for running, yet we praise other school's QBs for running. Drake Maye, the love fest for him the other day, kid ran 172 times, and led his team in carries and rushing yards. Dude threw the ball nearly 500 times in 13 games, but still ran 172 times. Duggan, another QB creamed over, ran it 112 times. Yeah I know you can talk about the passing, but them guys were running way more wide open offenses. LSU's offense is not wide open like you saw the second half of UGA. That was some, "game is three TDs away, so throw, throw, throw, and throw some mo" type BS. You know what it kinda reminded of, LSU vs Miss St 2014.

Going into 2018 Jefferson had 0 career catches and Chase and Marshall were coming in from high school. Situation are completely different from us going into 2023 trying to convince an elite WR to come and transfer here when we have 2 established elite guys already with the long career Boutte has had, and Nabers exploding for 850 yards this season looking great. Not to mention in 2018 our passing attack was still meh at best, so not sure how that helps the argument here about getting Lovett in here.

I wasn't hating anything, just being transparent. Daniels likes to take off and run a lot, he's really good at that (best part of his game by far), but it also takes away catches from WRs too, just the by product of tucking and running more than throwing it to your WRs instead. So to try and convince an elite WR to come in to play with 2 other elite WRs with a QB who likes to run a lot is simply not very easy.

I'd have to think if LSU convinced him to come over Nabors or BTJ might end up leaving. I doubt you could convince both to stay so someone would leave when they'd have an opportunity to start on money Junior year somewhere else.

I'm just saying you can't have 4 starting WR talent on the roster in NCAA. BTJ/Nabors are juniors which is money year for NFL. They could just leave and guarantee start elsewhere in the portal if they got Lovett. Considering the limited opportunities they had this year they probably would at least entertain it.

Not sure how they could convince them we can spread the ball 4 ways equally. Someone would get upset and leave. It's instant gratification no waiting around anymore thanks to transfer portal.

They both returned punts and kicks there and they both did it some at Mizzou. Half my family is from the area and I watched them play live in HS a couple times myself.

I would wait and see who is going to be the quarterback. We don't need more receivers if they don't get an opportunity to catch a pass.
Maybe the reason our coaches want more powerful Tight Ends.
Protect our QB running the ball,
