So, he had his lawyers move for a special master, seek SCOTUS review when the 11th Circuit allowed the FBI to continue its investigation, and fight with the special master over the review of documents....
But he cares less than anyone that the entire delay tactic was ruled unconstitutional and must be dismissed?
Sounds about right for Trump when you say it out loud.
Allow me to clarify, if I may. Trump’s not concerned one bit with the possibility of actual criminal conviction outcome of any sort, and probably not even too concerned with the actuality of charges being brought to begin with. Call it a hunch, an educated hunch though. So on that end, little care.
As far as what you’re referencing there, the question of “then why all the effort if he’s so unconcerned?” In short, when it comes to litigation (criminal or civil), you don’t acquiesce in any efforts by the opponent, even of you aren’t exactly concerned with the final outcome. It’s tantamount to “objecting for the record” simply to preserve any and all rights. Because that’s just what you do. An added goal of Trump is to also preserve rights and privileges held by the Presidency, aka avoid harmful precedent(s). For which he deserves an attaboy, particularly from some future President.
