Did they?

How do you designate "the better team"?

I would say from a talent perspective, the better team won. A&M is loaded with talent.

Why do you think we were reveling in A&M losing all season vs Vanderbilt? Because They were expected to be one of the better teams in college football. That expectation was due to the talent level of the team and the perception of their coach as a top-tier coach.

And by the way, the "we weren't supposed to be here" isn't an excuse for the loss or the lack of energy for the players. It is a reason to not come here and shite on players and coaches who overachieve by any rational metric conceivable at the beginning of the season.

There were a crap ton of people after the FSU game saying "show me where you see 6 wins on this season" and stuff like that. Most of them were silent for much of the season. They seem to be back in force now to tell us how horrible this staff and QB are as they prepare for the SEC Championship game with a team that is 10-15 players short of a full scholarship roster.

Uh, yeah. Look at TAMU's record. They were a terrible team.

But this is completely separate from a terrible job of coaching against TAMU that led to a loss to a terrible team.

2 separate concepts. It's conflation by people who are more loyal to our coach than our team. They will create any excuse/reality to defend the coach. The LSU fanbase has been doing this since 2005 after Saban broke our hearts and we hired an idiot sexual predator as our replacement.
