No it doesn’t, it just changes them. Ohio St Michigan this weekend for example would be completely meaningless in terms of a 12 team playoff. And before you say the winner gets a “bye”. The loser doesn’t have to play in the Conference CG so they would both ultimately play the same number of games by the first round and worse the winner could play 1 more if they lose the CCG.
Your post is just proof of who the win it all or it doesn’t matter is what’s ruined sports

I love the idea of first round games being played on campus. We will get to see matchups that have never / hardly happen on campus.

The conference champ game about to go away. It was created to put a team in contention for the title. When 2-3 teams will get into the CFP, no reason to risk a spot due to a blowout.
