I don't think we drop off too much next year, we have most of our guys coming back. The only position I am a little concerned about is qb. We all know that an experienced qb is a great thing to have. The only thing we have going in this position is the style of offense we are running doesn't make us rely on too strong of a qb. We need a qb that can do just enough and not make stupid mistakes and let the running game open it up for us.
Andre Smith?? Caldwell??
Also, all this talk of Saban inheriting a completely talentless team is pretty ridiculous. Alabama had 10 wins THREE YEARS AGO. Mike Shula didn't lose a single game in his last 2 seasons by more than 2 scores. He only lost 3 by more than a single TD.
Yes, Saban is doing a better job of winning close games this year than Shula did. But this Bama team has only played 3 teams with winning records- they beat UGA pretty good, then held on to win by 3 against Kentucky and 4 against Ole Miss.
LSU may very well lose this weekend, but I wouldn't go calling Saban the Greatest Coach in History quite yet.
