Looks like Ardoin, Taylor Martin, and Taylor Davis are either hurt or have been cut....

BATON ROUGE, La. – Game 1 of the LSU Baseball Purple-Gold World Series
begins at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the original Alex Box Stadium. The
three-game intrasquad series concludes LSU's six-week fall practice
session.

Game 2 is set for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and Game 3 starts at 3:30 p.m.
Thursday. All games will be six innings -- if a game is tied after six
innings, only one extra inning will be played.

The games are open to the public, and admission is free.

"Fall practice has been outstanding for us, and the Purple-Gold World
Series is a great way to wrap it up," said LSU head coach Paul
Mainieri. "I've been very pleased with the leadership displayed by our
returning players, and it's evident our freshmen class will make a
significant impact upon our program. The games this week will be a lot
of fun, but they will also provide a very competitive environment for
our club."

LSU hitting coach Javi Sanchez will serve as the head coach of the Gold
team, and he will be assisted by Tigers' equipment manager Matt
Montgomery. LSU volunteer coach Will Davis will be the head coach of
the Purple squad, and he will be assisted by student coach Kyle
Beerbohm.

The coaches conducted a draft on Sunday night in order to form the two
squads for the series. Below are the rosters for this week's games:

Why would Paul cut 4 guys? He only needed to cut 3.

I guess one of those 3 mentioned above is really hurt (Taylor Martin?)

Word last night was that those 4 were cut and Spencer Mathews (walk-on pitcher) made it

33 on that roster. He left 2 spots...Mitchell and Chad Jones. If Jones decides not to play then he'll have a spot open to bring in a guy.

Check that: Jordan Brown isn't on that roster and it didn't mention him being cut so that would make 34 guys with Mitchell being the 35th.

All three are not on this roster. Jordan Brown is on this roster as well as Chad Jones and Jared Mitchell.

Ardoin, Davis, Reine, Martin out.

33 on the games roster dont include Brown, Mitchell, and Jones which puts the roster at 36

I'm pretty sure Chad Jones isn't going to play, or at least that's what they're expecting. So, 35 without Jones and 36 with.

yea but you never know... although it would be rough for him to make that decision bc it would kick somebody else off

This was a post from someone else on another thread. Thought it was interesting information regarding the new walk-on....

Matthews is a stud. Manieri wanted him last year, but he just barely didn't make the final cut. Manieri called Matthews and personally asked him to try out again this year.

Matthews really helps the baseball team. He is a stand up guy with great grades and a great attitude. LSU did well adding him to the roster, even if he only helps the teams chemistry... Manieri

His fastball is in the Low 90's and his curve is very deceptive... IMHO, He is a pitch to contact kinda guy...

If they added Spencer Mathews that tells me they're not expecting Chad Jones to play.

Matthews is good and he deserved a spot on the squad, but his fastball is not in the low 90s. It's more in the 87-88 range.
