We do 2 Thanksgivings. My parents at noon and wifes parents for dinner. My middle brother lost his 4 year old child to pediatric cancer earlier this year, and he left town for Thanksgiving this year. Our mom is devastated but understands his reasons, one of which is not wanting to see my youngest brother, who decided it was appropriate timing to air out grievances from the way he was treated when he impregnated his girlfriend at 16 years old shortly after the death of his 4 year old niece, including shaming my grieving mother. If he shows up I may need someone to bail me out.
Wife's family Thanksgiving is not much different. Two brothers that refuse to be in the same room. I'll be good and drunk by the time that kicks off.

Edit for clarity. The teenage pregnancy was 17 years ago, and this was when he decided to bring it up.
