You need to du to research online and make some calls. Bitching about a sale's person approaching you while you are on their lot, trying to do their job, is a reflection on you. Many sale's people do suck, but no all of them. Some of them actually give a crap and are helpful to work with.

You can definitely order, reserve a car through Honda. They can actually provide accurate timelines as well, and sell you on a car that can specifically be tracked, not just a name added to some list.

Intel's chip manufacturing plant in the US will be up and running by summer. This will ease the shortage for some manufacturers

We bought a Hyundai Santa Fe fro sterling in Lafayette. Was super easy and sales guy was absolutely great and not pushy or anything whatsoever

If you are interested in that call Leif Meche. Best car buying experience we’ve had.

I know of a good dealer that won’t give you the run around, but they only sell GMC and Buick.

A lot of them won't. You just have to say what you want and wait on that "allotment" for your dealer. You can wait months and months...we waited over 6 but we were very specific about interior color/exterior color and trim.

We just picked up an Acura that way. Paid MSRP plus a "mandatory" dealer package (750 for overpriced mats, splash guards, etc).

I felt pretty good about it in light of all the dealer markups these days, but I never thought I'd pay MSRP for a car.
