Well, when people do not really know Jesus, they like to think that Jesus would support them in their sinful ways because He loves everyone...
Unfortunately, while He does indeed love everyone, He would never support someone living openly in sin and even flaunting their sin as acceptable...
Too many have fallen prey to the "my god wouldn't do that" mantra that society has created...
