The media assigns our opinions to us. This is the assignment being handed out.

Protected class attacked. (Sympathy play to evoke anger)

But we don't actually know that a single gay person was shot. We don't actually know if the shooter was gay or not, or if it was a man or woman (or which of the 52 genders), or the race, age, religion.

We got nothing but the word 'gay'.
Throwing that and that alone out there does nothing but fuel the public's imagination.

It's not intended to inform.
It's intended to manipulate.
