On Josh Williams' touchdown to make it 14-9, I noticed LSU lined up with 4 tight ends: Mason Taylor, Kole Taylor, Jack Mashburn, and Nick Storz. I know the Brian Kelly offenses are TE-centric but that's still quite a sight to see! Has LSU lined up with 4 TEs before? is it not that uncommon and I just never noticed?

We started doing it against Ole Miss. it makes it virtually impossible for the defense to stop the run if we are inside the 5.

I thought I saw 4 TE in the two point conversion too. Probably setting Saban up to believe that it was an inside running play again. Thus the late substitution by Bama, which I think is just what Kelly wanted.

Storz actually caught a pass out of the formation this year but it was overturned via penalty.

They can do alot out of that set, with 4 guys that can block and catch. We have more guys like that on the way, too. Defensive geniuses hate the formation bc you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't as far as personnel groupings - sub heavy and we hold our own or throw out of it, sub small and we ram it down your pooshoot.

It's uncommon but not unheard of. A lot of teams will use fullbacks or bigger RBs for a couple of those blockers. Do you know what would really drive the point home, though? A pic. Or maybe a gif.

ETA: I don't think Miles ever did it because he always had a fullback so I doubt it has been done at LSU.
