When a play is reviewed, who makes the final decision? Who talks with whom?

the SEC office in Birmingham.
it is run by the REC bama mafia

Is it just me , or did every play reviewed overturned or not , go Bama’s way …..

Have you watched LSU Bama series the last 10 years?? Obviously not if you have to ask this question. Two hands doesn’t equal possession, two feet in bounds doesn’t equal a catch. Two fingers getting bent back to the knuckle doesn’t equal a tipped ball. All the blatant non calls on Bamas “winning” drives. This game Mason was being held by HIS FACEMASK as BY runs inches away from his reach.

It's almost like you guys really believe that officiating crews hired by offices in Alabama, reporting to Bama grads, and receiving paychecks signed by Bama grads would somehow create bias.

I am really curious aboutthe review process. Who initIates it. Who has the last word? Can anyone point me to the SEC rules on reviiews?

I watched the first half with a group of dads at a Cub Scout event (while our boys were getting 3rd degree burns at the campfire). There were three of us there who were LSU fans, and the rest were fans of other teams although everyone was into it at the time. When the fumble went to the booth, I literally turned to the non-LSU fans and said, Now, Brian Kelly will get to see what the LSU-Alabama series is really all about. None of them believed it could possibly get overturned, but the LSU fans all knew it would happen. Now, they all know.

who makes the final decision?
It is my understanding that the ref viewing the monitor on the field makes the ruling. I am sure there are other people on the headset helping him with the rulebook.
Strike that... from SBNAtion
quote:
The rulebook says the whole replay crew is supposed to be at least three people — the “replay official,” a “communicator,” and a “technician.”
Conferences and schools get to decide equipment and logistics, unlike in the NFL, where every ref looks at a tablet. The NCAA has traditionally required the replay staff to work out of the press box, but conferences are now allowed to have their own command centers elsewhere.
The replay officials radio down to the field (either directly to the referee or to the replay staff “communicator”), and the referee announces that a play’s going to be reviewed.
The replay official watches the video and conveys his decision to the communicator on the field and the referee. The ref then announces the call to the world.
On-field officials can’t stop the game to ask for a review. The review has to come from upstairs or by way of a coach’s challenge.

Thank you very much for that coherent response to my question. On a related issue, I wondered whether the delay in the final call could result from the Birmingham crew scrambling for some esoteric rule or foggy respnse to their rulng.

I find the last point I posted interesting that an on-field official could not ask for a review and evidently is not a part of the review because Wingo said in post game interview one of the refs on the field said he agreed it was tipped but said it was not his call...
