Louisiana recruits are always underrated every year. The 3 stars are most likely 4 stars. That stats prove this.

Nabers was like 190th overall, Bech was a 3 star, and Williams was a 2 star just to name a few.

I feel like O was trusting too much of their rankings, instead of sending scouts out there to watch. Kelly is different. He wants to build around Louisiana players.

I feel like that was one of the main points of conversation Woodward had with Kelly before taking the job. He wanted him to reign in North LA wrangling it from Bama, and he wanted to re-establish the Louisiana pipelines that O burned for 5 stars out in California.

You never chase a 5 star out of state in place of going after a 4-star in-state. Its just bad taste and isnt worth the investment it takes to compete with other major programs.

California 5-stars are the perfect trap-recruit. Youre automatically behind a few other schools (like Bama-Georgia-Texas) and you're nowhere near in terms of location.

You can't sell Baton Rouge great, but you can sell the great college experience and a great shot at the NFL, but so can a lot of schools.

Despite the NIL warnings the same factors are still at play with recruits as any era, and location/distance to their family is still a big deal.

Its one of the things that worries me about Nyckoles Harbor. Unless he's blown away by the track/football combo opportunity then LSU is at a disadvantage in terms of location, even if you claim his parents can easily travel.

100% true right here. This is because a lot of Louisiana high schools don’t have the resources that Texas/Florida schools have. A lot of Louisiana high school players don’t reach their full potential in high school and still have a ton of room to get better in college. They also don’t have the big name recognition that other high schools in the country have so they don’t get awarded as many stars.
