What's the chance Arkansas actually passes this?

I am thinking they are pretty good. The majority of people seem to be for it, but you know, they have to get out and vote for it.

I'd previously heard pretty low but it's to be seen. It's going to likely be as expensive as in Louisiana if so because the law sets up similar limits on cultivators and retail stores as are in the LA laws.

As is often the case, the issue can be as clouded as... well...

The problem isn't the use of cannabis, it's the psychosis which can develop from continual constant and continual abuse of high-potency weed.

quote:

Recent research suggests that smoking high-potency marijuana every day could increase the chances of developing psychosis by nearly five times compared to people who have never used marijuana. The amount of drug used, the age at first use, and genetic vulnerability have all been shown to influence this relationship. The strongest evidence to date concerns links between marijuana use and psychiatric disorders in those with a preexisting genetic or other vulnerability.

This constant and heavy use of high-potency weed is what leads to minds who think this:

...is okay.

Many pro-weed proponents don't want to acknowledge (much less discuss) the increase in potency and how to responsibly handle that in a legalized situation. Many like to refer to what weed used to be as opposed to what it is now and what it will be in the future.

quote:

RESULTS
A total of 38,681samples of cannabis preparations were received and analyzed between January 1, 1995 and December 31, 2014. The data showed that, while the number of marijuana samples seized over the last four years has declined, the number of sinsemilla samples has increased. Overall, the potency of illicit cannabis plant material has consistently risen over time since 1995 from approximately 4% in 1995 to approximately 12% in 2014. On the other hand, the CBD content has fallen on average from approximately 0.28% in 2001 to <0.15% in 2014, resulting in a change in the ratio of THC to CBD from 14 times in 1995 to approximately 80 times in 2014.

CONCLUSION
It is concluded that there is a shift in the production of illicit cannabis plant material from regular marijuana to sinsemilla. This increase in potency poses higher risk of cannabis use, particularly among adolescents.

People threw fits when they found that tobacco products were being refined specifically to make them more addictive, but many of today's pro-weed crowd are either unaware that weed is being similarly manipulated or simply want to deny it.

As long as the legalization argument is being made without companion points of responsible use and manufacturing, it faces a very real possibility of backfiring as abuse issues create other issues which result in new fights and attempts to regulate.

It’s definitely not good for you and is 100% a gateway drug but it’s nowhere near as bad as alcohol. People need to be free to make their own decisions and it should be regulated the same as the 12pack of modelo I just finished
