What is the goal of the event/presentation, if I may ask?
It's our annual "all hands" meeting. About 1.5 hours long. We've been doing it virtual the past few years. We have a new CEO and he wants me to present for I.T.
I've sat through so many of these things, 22 or more, and most of the presenters are presenting engineering stuff, financial data, or planning/logistics info. Snoozefest, especially for the majority of our workforce who are shop-floor or warehouse people. It all goes right over their heads. So I figured if I ever present on I.T.'s behalf, I'm going to make it relatable and interesting to those folks as I can. I have confidence in my deck, but damn I really don't want to do this. The other guy who said he considered quitting to avoid it.. I was there for a couple days! But this is an 'opportunity' that my boss wants me to do. So I gotta do it.
Some really good advice, thanks very much to all of you. DEEP BREATH..
