Was just saying how these ranch style homes will look sooooo dated in 10yrs.
Jesus I'm turned of them..
The people buying 1x2s and nailing them to the wall in ugly patterns then posting it to social media like they are Picasso is crazy. It's the ugliest current design trend. Do some classic Judges paneling or wainscotting instead IMO

It's a trend, and it looks pretty decent, design wise. I am a fan of the white, grays and beige neutral colors.
In 10 years there will be another trend that we will be a fan of as well. So, does it really matter?

The subdivision I lived in as a child was built starting in the late 60s, and every house (there are hundreds) is a ranch with a low pitched roof and 8-foot popcorn ceilings. The original interiors, which have mostly been replaced now, used 1970s fads like green or orange shag carpets, and appliances in colors like Harvest Gold and that avocado green from the 70s.
Driving through that subdivision today, every house screams “1973!”
So what you’re describing is nothing new.
