A couple geologists named Pittman and Ryan wrote a book called Noah's Flood. It is fantastic and a very worthwhile read regarding floods in the earth's history.
Geologically time speaking, the flood related to Noah occurred a short time ago.

Geologically, there is no evidence that a global flood related to Noah ever happened. As a matter of fact it's likely impossible.

…the flood related to Noah…
Aren’t there other inundation legends from around the same time in several middle eastern/central Asian cultures besides the ancient Hebrews? Isn’t the theory that “the flood” was a relatively sudden rise in the level of the Black Sea around which there were numerous ancient cultures? The connection between the Mediterranean and the Black Sea opened up and caused the flood. There have been studies which have found ancient remains on what used to be the former shoreline which are now off the coast and a hundred feet below the surface.
