I don’t give a frick if the intention of the experiment was to show how unicorn farts can get us to Mars and cure cancer. I just want them to stop building more viruses that can potentially get out and kill me and my family.

I don’t give a baker’s frick why they’re doing it. They ruined the world with it last time and used this exact same justification for doing it. Are you aware of what Gain of Function is? All of those scientists can go frick themselves.

If you want to see the potential ramifications and arrogance of these scientists rewatch the lunch scene from Jurassic Park and then multiply that by a million. If what that article says is true and the virus manages to escape the lab, then that’s the end of civilization as we know it. The 20% that survive would largely starve to death taking humanity from 8 billion to around to around say 300 million.
