Who wants to make that commute? Easily 2-3 hours per day at best.

I did as recently as a couple months ago. Other than the commute nearly every other aspect of life improves by crossing that line. I was looking to give up my 7 minute commute in BR to move to one of the Felicianas before I realized the benefits of stretching just a bit further North. The commute is realistically an hour each way at worst, not a deal breaker for me.
The decision was taken out of my hands after I got a notice of a layoff, however, and I ended up taking a new job in Colorado instead two weeks ago. It’s been the best thing that ever happened to me and my wife.
