One of the more intriguing match ups to me last season was how he would attack Alabama in that playoff game. He called ridiculous plays during that game when the game was still close. I came away with not being impressed and because that is the only game that mattered to me. You're playing one of the big boys in CFB, you're not expected to win and you had pretty much an entire month to gameplan and scheme for that game and while you were pretty good on offense, enough to move the ball but you weren't going to win that game in the end.
So when Kelly hired him, I went "oh boy."
Fast forward to 6 weeks into this season. He's the architect of an offense that has started slow in every game against a power 5 opponent. He refuses to dial up quick confidence booster throws with a struggling QB in first 15-20 plays that can be scripted. Why isn't Daniels rolling out more? Where are the roll out bootlegs, crossing routes(think Kirk Cousins against the Saints last week opening drive where the Vikings abused the Saints) You'd think Daniels would be a deadly roll out/bootleg QB given who his WR's are. You would think that high % throws to build some momentum early on as confidence builders to build up to taking big shots would be a staple in this offense.
He calls such a predictable game and quite often, makes bonehead play calls. In this Tennessee game, LSU is driving, mid first quarter. He calls a run on first and gets stuffed, it looked like a 1 yard loss but the call was no gain. He calls another running play on 2nd and 10 and it goes for 2, he put a struggling offense in a 3rd and 8, deep in the opponents territory and you don't move the chains the following play. All year there has been ridiculous BS play calls and he's done absolutely nothing to create rhythm in the early portions of the game. That 3rd and 9 swing pass play call, YIKES, just shows how bad he is at this.
This guy is a deer in headlights, it's like he inherited an upgrade in talent that he's not used to having and not knowing how the use it. I'm not saying LSU is super talented this year but its better than what he had a Cincinnati.

Kelly isn’t replacing any of his coaches after year one unless they take jobs somewhere else.
