What are good alternatives? My boxwoods not looking too good.

Lots of good options. LSU ag suggests dwarf yaupon holly or inkberry holly. They also suggest other hollys, Podocarpus, distylium, arborvitae, and yew depending on your application. I’m sure some others that know more about plants than me have some suggestions as well.

I just got super frustrated with the ones at my last house so I researched the issue a good bit when I was planning our new landscaping.

Compacta holly is a great substitute except they get a little larger than boxwoods.
