Stay Together for the Kids
There are few bands more influential to my songwriting than Blink 182, and the combo of Mark and Tom was just straight magic. I love Tom’s stuff with Box Car Racer and Angels & Airwaves, but Blink 182 had so many great, catchy, emotional songs.

May mean nothing but all of blink’s social media sites completely changed with a new logo and erased the band members name. Maybe Tom is coming back, maybe he isn’t, but they’re gearing up for something.

The rumor is that Tom is coming back in time for them to play When We Were Young Fest in Las Vegas. The other rumor is that he’s coming back to record a new album over the fall/winter that they will tour to support next summer with Tom in the lineup.

Matt Skiba is better than Tom (especially live), but I get why they would do ANOTHER reunion.

It’s the voice. Tom has a distinct voice. Without him, Blink doesn’t sound like Blink. Tom is also a much better songwriter than Matt, and the combo of Tom and Mark is always a great one for songwriting.

better songwriter in what regard? alkaline trio blows blink 182 out of the water when it comes to songwriting/lyrics and it's not even close. blink has always been a super juvenile band lyrically.

It’s not the lyrics, but the composition. Alkaline Trio is a great band, but Tom and Mark’s compositions get way more with way less. This is evidenced by how, frankly, boring Blink 182’s music releases have been since they came back without Tom. Besides, that “juvenile” nature was kinda part of the charm.
Blink 182’s self titled album is probably my favorite album overall, which was after Enema. Tom has also released great albums with Angels & Airwaves as well as Box Car Racer in that time.

Their composition of 3 chords and pee pee poo poo lyrics?
I like blink 182 for what they are. A catchy dumb band. Hell, when I was a teen I played in a band that covered songs from Buddha, Cheshire Cat, and dude ranch. Always enjoyed blink but to act like they have much substance other than a few songs is not being honest.

Good, them Skiba and Mark albums were decent pop punk at best but they never really felt like Blink, just missing the catchy Tom riffs and hooks, also get rid of Feldmann as producer please.

Technically a better singer and guitar player? Sure, but Tom is without a doubt a better songwriter.
