Man, that must be a nightmare fighting the heat/humidity after a hurricane while having Covid at the same time. I don’t mean to be condescending, but it sounds like you have tried all of the popular “internet” remedies….perhaps you should try one of the meds that are actually approved to treat Covid

At any rate, I will pray for you.

No, you don’t sound condescending at all. I appreciate the advice and prayer. My only point in sharing what was prescribed for us is that it’s unbelievable how brutal this virus can be, despite throwing all of these meds at it. It’s just bizarre. Thanks again!

I know it is a tough disease…I’ve had a couple of different folks say that it is the worst sickness they ever had.

About 10 days. She took the Paxlovid - I wonder if it wasn't the culprit

We made a massive vegetable corn soup.

Really helped with nutrients it seemed. Helped the wife and I recover quickly after being knocked down.

Also pineapple juice will knock the cough out of you have one.

You have to sleep

I have definitely heard of that happening from quite a few people. I really hope she gets better soon.

Thank you for the advice. I’m going to make a massive soup like you described as soon as I can. I threw out a freezer full of food- and one thing was the broths and healthy soups that I make and keep in there. Really missing those now. But that’s a great suggestion and I hope I can have the strength to do that today.

Wish I was closer I'd bring you some. We keep it.in the freezer pretty much year round. We love it and someone is always sick so we make a ton and freeze a bunch.

Bring it to sick family, etc.

You have to have food and sleep to fight.

You'll get there bro. My wife hurt joint wise so bad she was in tears every night for 4 days.

Shes back to kicking arse.

Glad your home is ok

I talked to my aunt yesterday. She got Covid in late July or early August. She dealt with it for two or three weeks, mainly just a cough and being tired. She got pretty much better, then had a relapse or whatever a couple weeks ago. She said the second go around was worse than the first for her. She's in her mid-70s and is used to going somewhere all the time. I think the having to stay cooped up has been tough on her, as it is just her and her dogs now. Her son and grandkids would bring her stuff, but otherwise she was by herself in the house.

She sounded much better yesterday and said she's starting to get out some now. I don't know what continued treatment she had because when she gets to talking, there's not much room for questions.

That is so very kind. Thank you for saying that. Thanks for all the encouragement!
Edited: would you mind describing how you make the soup? Notice I didn’t ask for the recipe, because if you cook like I do, it’s probably a little bit different every time.

Man, that’s rough. I really hope she gets to feeling better soon. This thing is just a beast for some people. Can she identify what triggered her relapse?

It may have been the stress of some other medical stuff she had going on. She had to have several different tests right after she got over it and tested negative. It could have been that, but I don't know.

It has been a strange virus from the beginning. I have another aunt who is a similar age who got it early on and said, "Oh it wasn't too bad. The worst part was not being able to go anywhere."

Then a friend of my mother's went into the hospital last week for a stroke, got a routine test and they said he was positive. Not a single symptom or anything. So, I'm not sure about that one.

Stock pot (5 quart)
Beef roast (cube yourself)
1 can spicy v8
1 can regular v8
Bag of frozen corn
Bag of frozen green beans
Bag small frozen carrots
Bag of frozen baby Limas
(Othr beans if you want)
Green onions chopped
2 big things of beef broth
Bag of red potatoes cut small.

Brown and season meat really well.
Combine everything and let cook without lid to get the water out of the v8 juice. Need to concentrate it.

Green onions go in last and cooked down.

Place lid back on when it's as thick as you want and let cook down until potatoes and carrots are soft

Edit to add... I like to add some Chrystal hot sauce to my bowl. Kids don't like too much spice.
