Did you ever play the board game Risk? If you want to win you have to be adept at pitting other players against your biggest threat....a lot of head games/psychological warfare to be an above average Risk player. Right now the CCP and Russia have a common foe in the USA.....Russia and China are not really aligned politically but in the game of geopolitical chess they have common interests. I said when Biden was installed as president his primary geopolitical task is to keep Russia out of Xi's waiting arms and he has failed spectacularly.
