What Tucker Carlson did was:

1. Dismissed the most likely answer by simply saying Putin is not stupid and blowing up the pipeline is stupid.
2. Then he primed the pump of confirmation bias by presenting a suspect to his audience that is stupid - Joe Biden.
3. Then he tells the audience Biden said he would do this and plays a clip of Biden saying he would bring the pipeline to an end.
4. He then summarizes the clip he just played by misquoting Biden as saying “We would bring it to an end. We would blow it up.”
5. And after this misquote he pivots the rest of the segment to accepting as true that the US blew up the pipeline and discusses why it’s terrible Biden did this.

There is no such thing as honest cable news. It is all just cable news. None of it is educational. It is all manipulative and in the case of Tucker and Ukraine just a sad forum for Russian misinformation to reach American audiences.
