It appears CBS wanted to make sure their 2:30 game and 7:00 pm game were as close to "stand alone games" as possible. Thus, the reason you see all of the decent ESPN games at 11:00 instead of at night.
A&M v. Alabama was ALWAYS going to the be 7:00 game...regardless of A&M's performance thus far. That game was the sole reason CBS selected next weekend as a "double-header" weekend. You can make a very strong argument that LSU v. Tennessee looks like it will be a much better game than Auburn v. Georgia. However, the hard reality LSU fans must face right now is defending national champion Georgia has more NATIONAL cache than a "rebuilding" LSU program vs a program (Tennessee) that has largely been out of the national spotlight for 10 years.
Still, it continues to suck that the "traditions" of other SEC schools seem to need to be protected at all costs while LSU's night game tradition is only worth protecting if the TV networks find it to be convenient

Man I hope the State doesn't decide to kick in the 18 min time limit to cross da basin that weekend....all those who sleep a lil late will be hauling arse to get to BR from Lafayette..Acadiana area...state could be looking at a big pay day for sure.
