Whose smugness? You don't feel bad about the economy entering into a recession and people losing their jobs?

There is a lot of it out there. Many folks complaining about returning to work because they "have no time for self care" or want to take naps, check the mail, etc... Want to wear yoga pants and sweats all day, not have to commute.

I've worked from home for years. I'm in a sales-managerial role that takes me all over the country and sometimes outside. There is no office to go to. I resell stuff that is made in ten different places.

There are huge pros and huge cons. I hate not being able to look my coworkers in the eye once a week and read their body language without a flight and a few nights in a hotel. You think office politics are petty when folks are all in the same room, but they can be way worse when we never see each other.

The economy is entering a recession precisely because of the overreaction to Covid, which encouraged the WFH movement.
