I think coach Kelly talked about why Dellinger had been moved to center, and it has to do with the added weight and power needed play center in major college football today, in order to take on big guys over the ball and not get pushed back into the qb. Definitely more of a strength of Dellinger, but Dellinger needed more time to learn the position, and to get the snapping down to where there was less risk of costly miscues. Putting Turner at center was also done due to the problems we had at right tackle. Wanted to push Frazier out there even though he is more of a strength at guard. Turner did a good job against Southern and Emery Jones played better than expected when he came in as second string tackle. Because Bradford was out against MSU, and Jones had a good week of practice at right tackle, they were able to move Frazier back to guard and give Jones the shot at right tackle. I think he definitely surpassed expectations and is going to stay. As good as a run blocker as Bradford is, looks like he may be odd man out for now. As for Turner, he did get bull rushed on a couple of plays against MSU and struggled a bit getting pushed back into the pocket on those plays. He’s not as powerful as a run blocker as Dellinger, but center is his natural position and he has really improved his technique. There is alot that goes into that position, such as being the one that makes the line calls. . Obviously, you don’t always know where everything fits best with so many new pieces and not going full speed in a real games, but looks like they are figuring some things out with newer guys really stepping up their game under the lights. Future is really bright.
