Maybe, but every time he gets on the national stage, its for all the wrong reasons. COVID response, paying his wife with millions in lobbyist money, French Laundry, staffer affairs, energy crisis, wildfires, etc...

The thing is, the average voter will remember zero of those things by this time next year, much less 2024.
Newsome is trouble for the GOP simply because of how low-information our population/voting population is. Add in that the national media will set every narrative in Newsome's favor and spin every one of his failures into W's, and he is very formidable.
