I think a lot of people saw this actually. Our first good drive was the first scoring drive when we ran tempo at the end of the 1st half, and everyone I watched the game with wanted to see more of it.

McElroy and Tess spoke a lot during the broadcast about us needing to snap the ball before the play clock hit 15 seconds, and just letting Daniels make plays; less "paralysis by analysis" as McElroy put it. The cameras even caught BK motioning to line up quick and snap it.

I agree with your overall point though. I think running tempo from the jump will get our offense into an early rhythm and put instant pressure on defenses, hopefully avoiding more slow, ugly starts.

It’s a new roster with a new coaching staff and college rules limiting the amount of practice. Running up-tempo requires a well honed offense, including the communications. It’s possible we don’t run up-tempo much because we can’t, or we can only run a handful of plays out of up-tempo. As the season wears on you might see it more as our capabilities increase. Similarly, I think our special teams problems are a function of a lack of practice time spent on them as we worked on our offense and defense with our precious practice time.

Next season they will enter spring practice with a solid foundation in all three phases. We should see a much more finely tuned team take the field for the 2023 opener.
