The people who claim "its far safer today than 30 years ago" literally are idiots. They look at raw data and don't notice that dysfunction has spread in urban areas.

30 years ago there were safe areas in most cities, and it was most of the city. These areas have been encroached, tremendously.

In the 80s, Monticello, Parkforest, Broadmoor and Sherwood Forest were all desirable places to live in BR. For the most part, the area north of Choctaw was the "no go" and and that wasn't uniform east to west.

Hell...Government/Goodwood is the hard demarcation line now and it is pressing towards Perkins and Jefferson.
