Today’s session is “interesting”. My longer dated SPX SCVs are plummeting in value with the sell off (though the spike in the VIX is giving them a bit of juice). So mucho happiness there. And on the flip side, I launched several large lots of 0DTE SPX SPVs this morning as the downward action intensified. Right now, those look decent, but the red is getting brighter fairly quickly on the S&P.
As long as there’s not total insanity over the next couple of hours, this should be the best overall day that I’ve had this year.
The market was getting fairly well overbought. IMO, the froth and exuberance had to give way at some point… but I was beginning to wonder when (as I watched my SPX short call verticals soar in price!). Thankfully 5050 was handily rejected. Now we’ve crashed back through 5000. Whether or not the S&P can maintain a level around 4950 at the close will be interesting.

Really interesting market action in the final hour as the S&P got down to 4920 and then bounced with conviction back above 4950. The VIX almost touched 18 today, but settled back to 15.85. I'd like to see it back around 20, but I'll take what is given.
Depending on strategy and pricing/delta placement, today was likely a very good day for us short premium folks.
