I'd like to have experienced engineers and conductors on board these two mile long monstrosities instead of what the majority of the cross country trucking industry has become - rookies training rookies because everyone quits when they find out how awful the industry is.

Is being a conductor really that awful? UP says they can make nearly $90k a year driving a train and entry level is pretty close to what I make working in a plant right now, and I have no upward trajectory in my current role.
