The Oline will get better. Much of the problems were lack of coordination and failure to establish proper positioning. Wire was the only one getting physically beat on a consistent basis to basis. He will be replaced.

Harold Perkins, come on down! LB play was poor. Perkins' physicality was evident when he played ST. Once he is mentally ready to start, LB play will be much better.

CB play was surprisingly consistent. Most of their completions were over the middle and took advantage of linebackers and safeties that were out of position. Garner looks like he can hold SEC WR1s.

Daniels' running ability is going to be a nightmare for any defense. At a minimum. He will force them to use their best athlete as a spy, freeing up space for receivers and TEs.

I still have faith that BK and staff will put a more disciplined team on the field. It will take time to change the culture; but unlike our previous 2 HCs, he sees that fixing cuulture and establishing attention to detail are HIGH priorities.

Tigers win the game if they go for 2.

Following the ease to which they scored the TD at the end, I was surprised they didn't simply line up and run a similar, or even the same, play to the one they scored on. Probably just me, but when you have a chance to win the game, I would always take it then and there, over taking a chance on the multiple things that can happen in OT. I just have more faith when in control of my own destiny.

I see both sides on this. We should have been blown out based on how we performed the first three quarters, but we also never should have lost the way we did. Being a Saints and LSU fan I thought I had seen my teams lose in every way possible but that was a new one for me. I think kicking the XP was the right decision even if losing on a failed 2pt play is an easier pill to swallow. I also think that we have lost plenty of games like this to inferior opponents over the years (especially under Miles) and the fact that this was the first game of the year just makes it feel worse.

However, the more I reflect on the game the less concerned I am with the rest of the season. The OL is trash but I think our offense can excel in an uptempo play style and our defense did not give up any huge plays like we've seen the last few years outside of a fruity arse trick play. The mistakes we made over the course of the game are easily correctable through mature coaching and the use of a few brain cells on special teams.
