Seems like a good price. I had been thinking of ordering a kit from StewMac to build one. Their kit is about 190 dollars and their body is mahogany, which I prefer to the poplar that the squier has. Their kit also has the soapbar p-90s instead of the jazzmaster style so it's easier to upgrade. I've built 1 of the stewmac kits before and am very happy with it, but this jazzmaster is exactly the color that I was planning to go with, and the squier would save a lot of work.

I just bought THIS from ProAudioStar.

The pictures don't do it justice.

Here's a video review of it. I'm excited!

Man, I haven't seen those yet. That looks like an awesome guitar! I really like the control set-up and the shape. It's really a strat, but I like the shape and layout better, and it sounded great.
That's also the first time I've seen that guy's reviews, he's pretty good. Funny and not too nerdy, but fairly knowledgeable and to the point. If he was more handsome and had a thick drawl, he would remind me of myself.
I think you will love that guitar.

I think so too. Most of the YouTube guitar reviewers gushed their love after playing it.

What I really liked too was the components were more Fender than Squier with the upgraded tremelo, tuners and alnico pick-ups. Plus I needed a guitar to fill the strat sound in my line-up. I play with a friend who loves surf music and this should fit the bill nicely.

Hope your project goes well. Pull this thread up when you finish. Or take us on a build ride if you can post pics.

I hope I can. I have a Telly project that I hope to finish up today or tomorrow, waiting on the clearcoat to harden up on the body. I really am liking the way that it looks.
Putting a set of 62 Fender AVRI pickups in it with a pull switch on the tone knob for a series circuit.
I used a stain recipe that I came up with myself, and I think it worked real well.

The word on the street is that a couple of Big Box Stores made a HUGE order of Squiers. Fender had them built to fill the order and then, for whatever reason, the Big Box Stores backed out, leaving Fender holding these guitars...hence the big sale.

Having played stratocasters for about the last 35 years or so, I think that there is absolutely nothing wrong with a Squier stratocaster. I have a Squier Telecaster and it is fine, too. A little heavy for me, but nothing wrong with it. Get that Jaguar and play it, man!

Bon Apetit!

Nope.

Last guitar I bought was a Fender Squier Bullet Telecaster with the intention of Frankensteining the shite out of it.

Now that you posted that pic, I'm reeeeally thinking that would be a fun project guitar!
